Summoned Stakes – 2022

Track: Good Weather: Cloudy

A very good race in which the market is lead by Roots who showed off a neat turn of foot last start and can go in with things here. My Whisper has come back well this prep and finds another suitable race. Toregene is racing well and knows how to find the line while Belle Plaisir brings in some extremely good formlines and just needs even luck from the draw to prove very hard to beat.

1. Mirra Vision (16) – SCRATCHED

2. Belle Plaisir (8)

Belle Plaisir looks the one in this. It brings in superior form lines, likes the track and Dean Holland only needs to give it some clean air to be going very close. This is a drop in grade and we get $10.00 to find out.

3. My Whisper (6)

My Whisper didn’t get the rub of the green last run but was excellent the start prior beating the favourite of this race, Roots. Off that aspect it must be in the mix here.

4. Paul’s Regret (1)

Needs another win but is racing well enough to consider and Fry will get all the favours from the barrier. Hard to beat.

5. Mac ‘N’ Cheese (9)

Has a booming turn of foot and is set to peak. 1/1 over this trip, Mott steers and this race is within reach. Top 4 chance in a very even field.

6. Charleise (3)

Should improve off the nice draw and has good ability when right. Respect the market.

7. Toregene (13)

Hard to knock Toregene. It knows where the line is and is very progressive. Harder here but warrants respect. Top 4 chance.

8. Roots (7)

Roots showed off an excellent turn of foot last run to win. It was a fantastic ride but it will need much of the same here from the barrier. If Roots can find cover it will take some beating but its fate will be decided early by its settling position.

9. Another Award (12)

Another Award is having a good prep and strikes a race that is no harder than last start. It has an ideal running pattern and Craig Newitt is a very suitable booking.

10. Sur La Mer (14)

Sur La Mer has been a tricky one to catch for punters and is drawn awkwardly. It has plenty of ability but does mix its form a shade. Its best effort can take this out.

11. Saigon (2)

Saigon is a good one for multiples and is usually around the mark, it just struggles to post a win on the board. Williams should give it every chance from the draw and it isn’t without a hope in this.

12. Adele Amour (11)

Prefer others.

13. See Marie (15)

Flies 2nd up and was more than a pass mark fresh. I found this Mare hard to catch in QL but it clearly has settled well into its new surroundings. Winning hope.

14. Cliff’s Art (4)

Giving Cliff’s Art a good hope here given it has a very strong dry track record and has won fresh in the past. Its trials have been a nice piece of work and it demands serious consideration if there is good market support for it.

15. Deny Knowledge (10)

Prefer others.

16. Mere Fancy (5)

Can’t have.
