Race 4 at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday the 21st of October 2023.
The Gothic Stakes is a Listed race held at Caulfield Racecourse and is run over 1200 metres. It is for three-year-olds and is run under set weights and penalties conditions. The total prize money is $175,000 this year.

Gothic Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Facile is the one to beat in this with the strong form lines. Drawn for the right run and looks hard to peg back. Dark Halo was brilliant on debut and can measure up to this lot. Don Corleone is in the mix from the good draw. Critique is an interesting runner and gets the services of Blake Shinn while Gumdrops can give this a shake at a big price.

Maps well and had excuses first up. Classy enough to win this.

Brings in some strong NSW form. Due for a win but does get a good opportunity in this and does have a touch of quality.

Can’t have.

Tough draw but on the up and gets Shinn in the saddle. Respect the stables placement in this.

Huge debut win. Massive leap in grade here but can only go up from there. Right in the mix against these.
8. Facile (6)
Brings in the best form of this lot. Maps well and should take plenty of beating with Lane in the saddle.
9. Zousoko (9)
Prefer others.
10. Gumdrops (5)
Good last start win. Lightly raced and a chance in this.
