Track: Good Weather: Cloudy

A wide open field with the market being lead by Garibaldi who was last seen chasing Holyfield and that looks the right form for this race. Contemptuous gets a lovely map and draw, it has a booming turn of foot and can give this race a shake while Samoot looks nicely placed in this field and the Kris Lees stable are in a purple patch at the moment. The speed should be solid.

1. Garibaldi (6)

Bumped into Holyfield last run and the form has been franked since, the track record was also broken on that day. Garibaldi flies over this track and trip and is the class of the race. Goes on top and should prove hard to beat but I’d want the ground soft 6 or better for it.

2. Axe (5)

Axe has a great running style. It lands on the speed and plays catch me if you can tactics. It can certainly pinch this race if the track is suiting those on speed and it has never missed the quinella with Collett aboard. Hard to beat.

3. Haunted (11)

Prefer others.

4. Smart Meteor (10)

Prefer in something easier.

5. Wisdom Of Water (1)

Needs to lift off its past few starts but barrier 1 will certainly help and this race is within reach if it can find its best.

6. Tavisan (2)

Having a good prep and well weighted against this field. Tavisan should be able to hold the rail and give a strong sight. Top 4 player.

7. Animate (12)

Can’t have.

8. Contemptuous (3)

Strong galloper that has an excellent strike rate and is 3/3 with Lloyd in the saddle. It maps to do no work from the draw and loves racing here. This is certainly within reach.

9. Goldsborough (9)

Ready to peak 2nd up and Thompson knows the horse very well. The knock is the awkward draw but this is a winnable race and on form it should be going close.

10. Samoot (8)

No luck last run, Samoot brings in some good NSW form and that usually holds in QL. Byrne jumps aboard for the first time and the Lees stable are airborne. I have it the danger to the favourite & goes on top if the ground is wet.

11. On The Lead (13)

No jockey booked so may not be running at this stage. Respect any market moves.

12. Miss Divine Em (4)

Can’t have.

13. Zingalong (7)

The map looks tricky for Zingalong with a few of these going forward. Some hope but needs some luck.
