CS Hayes Stakes 2024 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
King Colorado returned in brilliant fashion and looks hard to beat agains these. Needs a bit of luck from the draw but nicely placed. Otago has good upside and has been a good winner in both runs to date. Riff Rocket will appreciate further but goes in the mix. Gap to the rest with the favourite very nicely placed here.
CS Hayes Stakes 2024 Runner by Runner
1. Riff Rocket (5)
Has plenty of class but suited over further. Should get a nice run from barrier 5 but leaning to the favourite in this who should have the fitness edge and looks very hard to beat.
2. King Colorado (9)
Loved his return hitting the line with plenty of intent. Will need a bit of luck from the barrier but drawn to get clean air and is the class of the race. Hard to beat.
3. Run Harry Run (13)
Building a nice record to date and can give this a shake with the gun NZ jockey aboard to negate the wide draw.
4. Amur (10)
Can’t have.
5. Tanhauser (1)
Has good form from prior preps but went off the boil towards the end of last prep. Monitor any market moves that occur.
6. Ambassadorial (12)
Can’t have.
7. Otago (3)
Racing in good fashion with 2 strong wins to date. Maps for a good run of things from barrier 3 and looks a contender in this field. Keep safe from the kind draw.
8. Cap Ferrat (7)
Can’t have.
9. Verdad (2)
Keep an eye on the market fresh and should get a nice run from barrier 2. Not hopeless.
10. Amigo (4)
Been up a while this prep but racing well enough to find the placings.
11. Hey Fat Cat (8)
Progressive type who looks well placed in this field. Has a sharp turn of foot and can stay. Goes in the mix.
12. Et Tu Brute (11)
Good last start win. Much harder here and has a tricky draw to overcome but still warrants respect in this field and should be hard to beat.
13. Flying Valley (6)
Prefer others.
