Black Caviar Lightning Stakes – 2024

All eyes on Imperatriz who is a winning machine and will take plenty of holding out fresh. Lots of talk about a recent trial being average but looks the winner. Private Eye is the logical danger as the market reflects. Proven at group 1 level and will be the one charging home late. I Am Unstoppable has claims from the good draw to run a minor placing while Bella Nipotina is an honest operator and shouldn’t be far away.

1. Private Eye (8)

Danger to the favourite and can run over these if the pace is on. $5.50 looks about the right price and if Imperatriz doesn’t take this out Private Eye will be swooping late. Hard to beat.

2. The Astrologist (7)

Has been around the mark this prep and maps for favours from barrier 4. Will steers and is a very appealing price in this.

3. Bella Nipotina (6)

Ran 3rd in  his race last year. Under-rated runner that is always around the mark at this level. Goes in the mix but hasn’t won here from 8 tries.

4. Imperatriz (2)

Impossible to tip against despite concerns a recent trial wasn’t up to scratch. Class operator that will take a stack of beating here fresh and deserves to be the short price. Very hard to beat.

5. Espiona (4)

Can’t have.

6. Rich Fortune (1)

Leaning to others.

7. Cylinder (5)

Classy runner that has plenty of ability. Flies fresh but prefer in something a little easier.

8. I Am Unstoppable (3)

Has claims in this field and big wraps. Might just need to find a length or two to take this out but goes in the mix from the good draw and with Kah aboard.
