Claire Lindop Stakes – 2024

Following the early scratchings of Mollynickers and Vibrant Sun, 13 fillies remain for the 2024 Clare Lindop Stakes. Three runners had their last start in a 3YO BM 70 Handicap over 1400m at Morphettville Parks on 2nd March (won by Angelic Appeal), while the rest came via different races. Two runners are sired by So You Think .

The early favourite is Quickster who was a last-start winner over 1300m. Second favourite is Vivy Air who was a close 2nd to Legacies over 1400m last start. Third favourite is The Autumn Belle who has 2 wins and 3 places from her 5 starts. All other runner are currently $12 or longer.

She resumed to flash home late for 2nd to Legacies in a 3YO Open Quality over 1400m at Flemington on 9th March. One of the main chances.

3. Justaboom (15)

This filly won 2 races in a row at Pakenham then Caulfield before running 6th in the Group 2 Autumn Classic over 1800m at Caulfield on 24th February where she had a respiratory noise and poor recovery. Forgive her that run.

4. The Autumn Belle (1)

She has 2 wins and 3 places from her 5 starts and is drawn ideally. Should be in the finish.

5. Sentimental Flame (11)

Resumed for a disappointing 3.4 lengths 6th in a 3YO BM 70 Handicap over 1400m at Morphettville Parks on 2nd March (won by Angelic Appeal). Prior to that she had been in the trifecta at all 5 starts. Can improve.

6. Quickster (2)

This filly from the Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman stable was a narrow winner over 1300m at Sandown Hillside on 6th March. The horse she beat (The Shaper) has won since, franking the form. Drawn well and can fight out the finish.

7. Diamonds Choice (4)

Resumes after a 20 week spell and has one win from er 7 starts. Prefer to see.

8. Vibrant Sun (7)  – scratched

9. Angelic Appeal (5)

Last start winner over 1400m at Morphettville Parks. Place chance.

10. Zaszou (3)

Won by 2.8 lengths in a maiden over 1400m at Cranbourne to break her maiden on 14th March. That was only her 4th start and she might go on with it now she has a win.

11. Madison Kate (10)

Returns from a 7 week let-up. Looks safely held.

12. Spangled Sipper (14)

Drawn very wide. Prefer others.

13. Lapilli (12)

Close 2nd to Angelic Appeal at Morphettville Parks last start. Rough place chance.

14. Divine Fire (6)

Looks tested.

15. Seeking Stardom (9)

This looks too hard.
