Track: Soft Weather: Fine

A wide open race where Roch’N’Horse is on top. Surprised them at $101 over this track and trip last prep and seems on track to be doing the same, albeit much less of a price. The Astrologist is honest as the day is long and should be fighting out the finish while Swats That and Sirius Suspect demand serious thought in this affair down the straight.

1. Kementari (13)  – SCRATCHED

2. Zoutori (8)

Lost its way a little last prep but absolutely loves Flemington. Won this race in 2020 and 2021. This is a deep race but if Zoutori can find its old form it can take this out.

3. Hard Empire (16)

Outstanding last run but needs to back it up again which is the query here. Keep an eye on the market.

4. Roch’N’Horse (7)

On top. Won over this track and trip at colossal odds and its comeback shows there is every chance it is capable of repeating again. Word from the camp is the horse is flying, I think it can win at $23.00.

5. Baller (1)

Baller was touch to catch last prep. It certainly has ability but tends to mix its form. The market should be a handy guide to how it will run.

6. Graceful Girl (2)

Solid enough odds to consider. Didn’t do a heap fresh but does have a good turn of foot when things fall into place. Can go close.

7. The Astrologist (10)

Massive hope with an outstanding track and trip record. Ran 3rd in this race last year. Spain takes the steer for the first time which is some query but no doubt The Astrologist is genuine and will be fighting out the finish.

8. Stageman (4)

Consistency finding the podium without winning. Barrier 4 should ensure a good run just off the speed, needs to notch up another win but certainly is in the mix.

9. Roheryn (12)

Flies fresh and off that basis the $27.00 is large in this. Has a motor and Blake Shinn will sit off the speed waiting to pounce. Can win.

10. Red Can Man (11)

Strong 2nd up record, Red Can Man is due for another win and this isn’t an easier than what it has been contesting in. Leaning to others at this stage but can go close.

11. Sirius Suspect (6)

Enjoys racing here and is in outstanding form. Ethan Brown retains the ride and its hard to knock in the current form and big top 4 contender.

12. Swats That (5)

Have to assume Swats That wouldn’t have gone backwards being transferred to the Maher & Eustace stable. Can really rip home when things fall into place and has the turn of foot to beat these. Might be banking on the gaps to come but hard to beat with even luck.

13. Shooting For Gold (17)

Won well last start but I am a little unsure about the form, prefer others in this at prices. Shooting For Gold does have a good turn of foot and pace when things fall into place but it now finds a decent leap in depth here. Short enough.

14. Chat (14)

Needs to lift.

15. Holbien (15)

Can’t have.

16. Poland (9)

Gone off the boil. Its best form would go close here so respect any market moves.

17 . Veranskova (3)

Return was brilliant, closing splits were fast and really savaged the line late. Williams sticks and drawn to pounce at the right time. This race is within reach, keep very safe.
