All eyes on the unbeaten Miss Coota who has been seriously impressive thus far to date. She will need some luck from the barrier but gets the services of Craig Williams and can land on the speed and prove hard to hold out. Worx should be hard to hold out from the nice draw. It was very unlucky last run behind Godfather, who is a solid chance in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the start of next year. That looks the right form for this race. The Novelist was excellent on debut in NSW. Harder here but respecting the stables placement.

1. Chrysaor (3)

Likeable win just at its 2nd career start. Waller always demands respect, especially in the big races and James Orman retains the ride. Respect any market moves and Chrysaor is hard to beat against these.

2. Cifrado (5)

Ticking along well thus far and Thornton has options from the kind draw. This race is within reach and it brings in the right form. The $31.00 is over the odds.

3. The Novelist (6)

The Novelist won well on debut in NSW. The stable are one of the best in the land and Innes Jr retains the ride. Respecting the placement and impressive debut, hard to beat here.

4. Worx (2)

Worx had little luck last start in the Phelan Ready. That was behind an extremely smart galloper called Godfather. Harder here but Harley has options from the draw and this race is well within reach. The $18.00 is an excellent price.

5. Godzilla (8)

Liked the trial of Godzilla and the stable are excellent at placing their horses. Keep an eye on the market and for any late moves.

6. Miss Coota (7)

Love the way Miss Coota has been winning to date and she deserves to be given a crack at open company. Williams is likely to be aggressive early from the wide draw and she will take plenty of running down coming off 2 big wins by a combined total of 13 lengths.

7. Mighty (4)

Mighty narrowly won on debut when heavily backed. This race is much harder but it is impossible to ignore the Gollan/Maloney combo and the stable are in excellent form at the moment.

8. Freeman (9)

Can’t have.

9. Excel D’or (1)

Solid effort in the Calaway Gal last start. Brodie Loy has options from the draw and this race is a suitable assignment. Leaning to others but is certainly a top 4 chance if it improves off its debut.
