Our Hobart Racing Tips for Sundays meeting.

The main races are the $250,000 Group 3 Hobart Cup (Race 9), Group 3 Bow Mistress Trophy (race 8), Listed Thomas Lyons Stakes (race 6) and Listed Strutt Stakes (race 7).

Hela (Hobart Race 7 No. 2)
This three-year-old Night Of Thunder filly trained by Scott Brunton is unbeaten in four starts and looks the likely winner of the Group 3 Strutt Stakes. She led and out-booted them for a length win over 1400m at Launceston on 8 January, then sat outside the leader before racing away around the turn for a dominant 4 length win in the Thousand Guineas over 1600m at Hobart on 24 January. She should handle the extra distance and remain unbeaten.

Toorak Affair (Hobart Race 9 No. 4):
This seven-year-old Toorak Toff mare trained by Michael Trinder won the Hobart Cup last year and is looking for back-to-back wins. She won the Listed Tasmanian Stakes by 0.3 length over 1600m at Launceston on 8 January, before finishing 3 lengths 4th in the Summer Cup over 2200m at Hobart on 24 January, She can handle soft tracks and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Odin’s Folly (Hobart Race 10 No. 1):
This six-year-old mare is the early favourite in this BM 66 handicap  over 2100m, as 3 of her 4 wins have been at this distance range. She managed to out-stay the runner-up for a 0.5 length win over 2100m at Launceston on 16 December, then didn’t get clear running and was eased down for 4.9 lengths 9th in the Brighton Cup over 2100m at Launceston on 8 January. Even with a 2kg claim for apprentice Thomas Doyle she will carry 4kg more than last outing and offers no value.
