Our Sandown Hillside Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

There are two Group 2 races  –  the Sandown Guineas and the Zipping Classic, four Group 3 races – Eclipse Stakes, Kevin Heffernan Stakes, Sandown Stakes and Summoned Stakes, and four Listed races – the Sandown Cup, Doveton Stakes, Merson Cooper Stakes and Twilight Glow Stakes.

Aysar (Sandown Hillside Race 6 No. 1)
This Deep Field colt trained by Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes has two wins and three places from five starts. He finished 0.4 length 2nd in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas over 1600m on 10 October where he only went down late, then ran 0.3 length 2nd in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes over 1600m at Flemington on 31 October where is run peaked 50m from home. He is drawn the rails here and looks ready to win.

West Wind (Sandown Hillside Race 9 No. 10):
This Pins mare from the Maher & Eustace stable is in the best form of her career. She won by 6 lengths over 2080m at Cranbourne on 13 September, then won the Pinker Pinker Plates over 2025m at Cranbourne by 0.1 length on 9 October. Next she won over 2040m at Moonee Valley by 0.75 lengths on 23 October. She is down in weight and likes to lead. Although this is a harder race she looks a good each-way prospect.

Avilius (Sandown Hillside Race 8 No. 1):
This seven-year-old gelding trained by James Cummings is the early favourite in the Group 2 Zipping Classic over 2400m. He chased hard to the line to finish 2.65 lengths 6th in the Caulfield Cup over 2400m on 17 October, then was well back throughout when 20.95 lengths 22nd in the Melbourne Cup over 3200m on 3 November. His last win was in September 2019 and he does not look like value.
