P.B Lawrence Stakes – 2022

Track: Good  Weather: Overcast

All eyes on the return of Mr Brightside who is well named and has ample amount of talent. Elephant is loaded with class and flies fresh while I Am Superman doesn’t win out of turn but is suited by a dry deck and Scallopini will be running on hard. There should be solid tempo in the race.

1. Regal Power (3)

No wins from 10 goes over the trip and not known to be a performer first up. Keep an eye on the market but prefer it later on in the prep.

2. Mr Brightside (4)

Has a mountain of class and sets up beautifully from the draw. Without a doubt the best horse in this race and the market will be a cruicial guide late to its chances.

3. Streets Of Avalon (1)

As tough as they come and does enjoy this track and trip. At the moment, needs to find another win before worth considering however if there is a heavy on pace bias on the day I expect the money will come.

4. Scallopini (7)

Going along well and last start was very close to landing the prize. The form hasn’t been overly franked and there is a tricky draw to overcome but Damian Lane is in the saddle and Scallopini is one of many winning chances.

5. Buffalo River (2)

Needs to put another win on the board and has never saluted on a good track. Can’t have.

6. Aysar (6)

Prefer others.

7. I Am Superman (5)

Has the class but hasn’t been going as well of late. Goes well fresh and over this track and trip. The market will be the best guide but at the moment prefer others.

8. Elephant (9)

First up star who is 3/4 when fresh and has won over this track and trip. Elephant loves a fight to the line and has plenty of class. Like a few runners in this race the market will be the best guide to its chances late.

9. Uncle Bryn (8)

Not hopeless at odds after being a moral beaten fresh. Sticky draw and likely improves over further but is certainly capable of taking this race out at healthy odds.
