Wide open field with Emerald Kingdom leading the market. Jim Byrne does the steering and it comes out of The Buffering where it lead them up and kicked. Well placed here to repeat the dose. Oscar Zulu is a gun fresh and gets the services of J-Mac. Vega One and Jamie Kah make for a lethal combo and it can give this race a shake while Petronius is having an excellent prep and should be in the mix. The tempo looks solid.

1. Vega One (11)

Brings a touch of class to this and Jamie Kah knows her timing with the horse. Doesn’t like to hit the front early, watch it for it to be flashing late on these. Definite chance.

2. Emerald Kingdom (8)

Should give a good kick and lead these for fun. This race is well and truly within reach and its hard to ignore Emerald Kingdom in the form it is in. Worth keeping safe in a winnable field.

3. Holyfield (14)

Runner-up in this race last year. Holyfield has been around the mark this prep but the problem here is the wide draw. Some hope if it can and on the speed without doing too much work but that needs a bit to go right in order to happen. Keeps safe if the market likes it late.

4. Kiku (15) – scratched

5. Oscar Zulu (1)

Excellent horse fresh who will be banking on the rails run but does have no better jockey to be doing that well than James McDonald. Big respect here in this race and Waller should have it primed and ready to go.

6. Axe (16) – scratched

7. Superium (13)

Broke a long drought last start. Whether Superium can go on with things here remains a query but it has to be a major player if it can replicate its last run.

8. Love Tap (7)

Hit and miss but can give cheek in this race and Tim Clark booked shows intent of being ridden forward. This race is within reach.

9. Blondeau (19) – scratched

10. Vinco (10)

Needs to lift on current effort but worth respecting any market moves for it.

11. Amish Boy (5)

Hard to back with the one win to its name. Always respected by the market and comes out of a leading stable but prefer others in this.

12. Edison (9)

Needs to lift, keep an eye on market moves.

13. Redouble (3)

9YO that won this race in 2019, four years ago. Prefer others.

14. King Of Hastings (12)

Needs to lift to give this a shake.

15. Brookspire (17) – scratched

16. Petronius (4)

Having a great prep and was a strong winner last start. Like the map for Petronius here and it can give a great sight in this field. Can measure up against this lot.

17. Animate (6)

Needs to lift to figure.

18. Shaquero (18) – scratched

19. Palladas (20)

Prefer others, especially from the draw and with the strike rate attached.
