Grand Prix Stakes 2022 Race Details
Race 5 at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday the 17th of December 2022.
The Grand Prix Stakes is a Group 3 race held at Eagle Farm Racecourse and is run over 2100 metres. It is run under set weight conditions for the three-year-olds. The total prize money is $250,000 this year.

Grand Prix Stakes 2022 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Good
All eyes on Kovalica who looks well placed to notch up another win. It was mighty impressive last start and will take plenty of beating in this. Noah ‘N’ A Deel comes out of the same race, the Eagle Way Three-Year-Old Quality Handicap and has 2 and a half lengths to find on the favourite. Kandos Cosmos brings in some different form and maps for a kind run and Cash Me has been racing well and has the services of Ben Thompson. Kovalica on top in a very suitable race for it.
Grand Prix Stakes 2022 Runner by Runner
1. Kovalica (8)
Loved the last start win from Kovalica in the Eagle Way Three-Year-Old Quality Handicap. Placed to perfection in this field and should be able to position handy. James Orman sticks, this racer is very suitable and it does look better than these. The $1.60 is fair enough and I expect it to be winning.
2. Four Mile Lane (7)
Can’t have.
3. Tradition (2)
Tradition has been racing well and brings in some NSW form lines. It maps a treat, Jim Byrne hops aboard and Godolphin are having an outstanding season. Main danger to the favourite.
4. Kandos Cosmos (4)
Kandos Cosmos brings in some NSW form and creates interest. It maps Kindly from the nice draw and gets the leading jockey Ryan Maloney. This race is within reach but I prefer the form the favourite brings to the table.
5. Cash Me (6)
Cash Me has been racing well enough to figure in this. Ben Thompson sticks and its form is sound. It maps for an okay run in transit and looks a nice place chance at solid odds.
6. Tapildoodledo (5)
Going okay but would prefer it in an easier race.
7. Chayse ‘N’ Storms (3)
Prefer others.
8. Noah ‘N’ A Deel (1)
Comes out of the Eagle Way Three-Year-Old Quality Handicap when running 2nd to the favourite in this, Kovalica. Has 2 and a half lengths to find but does map kindly and can boot up and make Kovalica work. Not getting much about the place odds but it does look a very good top 3 player.
