Cinderella Stakes – 2022

Only six runners remain for the $107,250 Cinderella Stakes following the early scratchings of Avoid Me, Over Shady and Yowie. Three of them have already won a race and one is unraced. The short-priced favourite is See You Heaven whose only start was a Group 3 win. Second favourite is Bistro who has one win from her two starts. Third in the market is Imbibe who is having her first start and has a win from two trials.

The other runners are all at double figures.

1. See You In Heaven

This Divine Prophet filly trained by Richard & Chantelle Jolly looked impressive when she took over at the 250m and went strongly to the line for a 1.3 length win in the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes over 1000m at Flemington on 4 November. That was her only start. She won a Morphettville Parks trial by 2.8 lengths and looks the likely winner.

2. Bistro

Anthony & Sam Freedman train this Street Boss filly who has one win from her two starts. On debut she was a length winner of a 2YO Fillies Plate over 1000m at Sandown Hillside on 8 December, then chased steadily along the inside for 2 lengths 5th in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Preview – Fillies over 1000m on 26 January. One of the main chances.

3. Prance ‘N’ Dance

She has had three race starts so has more race experience than the other fillies. Following a 16 week spell she was a narrow winner over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 5 February, then jumped awkwardly was bumped and didn’t run on when 5 lengths 4th over 1000m at Morphettville Parks on 19 February. Forget her last run.

4. Arabian Melody

Ciaron Maher & David Eustace train this Pride Of Dubai filly. At her only start she fought hard to only go down late for 0.7 length 2nd over 1100m at Ballarat on 27 February. In the mix.

5. Runaway Belle

She has had two starts in Melbourne for 4.5 lengths 5th over 900m at Flemington on 22 September, then following a 21 week spell she was 3 lengths 4th over 955m at Moonee Valley. This looks too strong.

6. Avoid Me –  SCRATCHED

7. Imbibe

This Shalaa filly from the Tony & Calvin McEvoy stable is having her first start and has a win from two trials. Keep an eye on the market.
