Track: Soft 5 Weather: Fine

The last Mare to win was Elumino in 2010. Last years winner was Mnementh. Press Down is this years favourite and is shooting for three straight wins. Looks very hard to oppose. Veloce Carro has been very consistent this prep but will need luck from barrier 13. Why Worry maps for a good run and has been racing well this prep. Who Dares was just fair last time out but both wins prior were very good and also joins the host of chances.

1. The Astrologist (6)

Hasn’t been in form lately. Happy to oppose.

2. It’sourtime (9)

Loves racing down the straight and has been building up to a win. Doesn’t win out of turn these days but is suited to this field.

3. Crosshaven (8)

Good win last start but much harder here. Leaning to others.

4. Who Dares (4)

2 wins prior were excellent but last start was just fair. Maps well from barrier 4 and going well enough to give this a shake.

5. Semillion (11)

Has been around the mark this prep but will need luck from barrier 11 in what is a race with plenty of pace. May have to cop a fair bit of heat on speed.

6. Senegalia (3)

Can’t have.

7. Press Down (5)

Racing in superb fashion and looks very hard to beat yet again. Versatile runner that can settle on or off the speed and maps well from the draw to head straight to the front.

8. Astero (12)

Can’t have.

9. Zethus (10)

Prefer others.

10. Ranting (2)

Solid return run for third and can build off that. Jumps from the good draw and comes into this with decent claims.

11. Veloce Carro (13)

Racing very well with a win and two seconds this prep. Maps to find the outside rail and can give this a shake.

12. Cavalier Charles (1)

Scratched.

13. Why Worry (7)

Going well and comes into this with a winnable weight. Can settle on the speed and brings in the fitness edge against a few of these. Moor rides from barrier 7.
