Blesk (Canterbury Race 6 No. 5):
This four-year-old Savabeel gelding trained by John O’Shea has been racing well this campaign. He was held up badly at the 400m and flashed home when he got clear at the 200m too late for 0.1 length 2nd over 1400m at Kensington on 10 March, then found the front at the 150m and came away for a 1.5 length win over 1600m at Warwick Farm on 31 March. He looks well suited here and should win.

Fastconi (Canterbury Race 8 No. 16):
This three-year-old Nicconi gelding trained by Chris Waller was the emergency for this race but will get a run now that there have been a few early scratchings. Last campaign he finished 1.5 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Rosehill on 20 November, then was not fully tested when 2.5 lengths 7th over 1300m at Warwick Farm on 9 December. He resumes from a 19 week spell following gelding and should be fit after two trials. Is worth an each-way bet.

Avion Fury (Canterbury Race 7 No. 6):
This four-year-old More Than Ready gelding is the early favourite in this BM 72 handicap over 1900m. He finished 3.6 lengths 7th in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes over 2000m at Rosehill on 13 March, then made some ground from well back to finish 5.9 lengths 5th in the Group 3 Neville Sellwood over 2000m at Rosehill on 3 April. He is down in grade but offers no value at the short price.

Key Comments Expecting on pace runners to be suited on this track. Running on an expected heavy deck so looking towards runners that will handle the conditions. Best Bet Three Grand (Hamilton Race 8 No. 10) Tricky card to sort with plenty of chances. Three Grand has been around the mark this prep.
