Canterbury races are run at Canterbury Park Racecourse, which is run by the Australian Turf Club. Prior to the formation of the ATC in 2011, the Sydney Turf Club ran and operated Canterbury Park and the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse while the Australian Jockey Club operated the other two Sydney metropolitan racetracks, Royal Randwick Racecourse and Warwick Farm Racecourse.

There are no Group 1 races run at Canterbury Park, although in 2008 the Queen Of The Turf and the Ranvet Stakes were held there.

Canterbury Park is home to Sydney night racing with the club conducting six night racing meetings a season. The first of the Sydney night races is held in early December with the last of the night meetings conducted in March.

Sydney night racing at Canterbury races is a fun and exciting night out for many patrons who can’t get to Canterbury Saturday races or the midweek Canterbury races due to work commitments.
