Our Scone Horse Racing Tips for Fridays meeting.

Race 7 is the Group 3 Dark Jewel Classic and race 8 is the Scone Cup.

Gravina (Scone Race 8 No.3)
This three-year-old Sebring colt trained by James Cummings has a win and two places from six starts. On resuming from a 58 week spell he kept chasing for 2.62 lengths 2nd over 1100m at Hawkesbury on 5 April with the best 600m-200m race sectional of the day at distance, then was bumped shortly after the start and finished 1.3 lengths 7th over 1200m at Canterbury on 21 April. Back to country level he should be hard to beat.

Laure Me In (Scone Race 7 No. 9):
This six-year-old Ad Valorem gelding trained by David Pfieffer at Warwick Farm has six wins and 10 places from 34 starts and is the early favourite in the Scone Cup over 1600m. He battled away for 1.7 lengths 4th on the Listed January Cup over 2000m at Randwick on 9 January, then had a 15 week break. On resuming he chased hard but was never fully clear when 1.2 lengths 4th over 1400m at Randwick on 24 April.Has not raced at Scone before and I expect him torun well but have rated others above him.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Wednesday 24th April 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight.
