Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Sunday.

The feature race is the Supremacy Stakes for 2YOs (race 7).

Outback Jack (Ascot Race 6 No. 1)
This three-year-old gelding from the Stephen Miller stable has three wins and two places from six starts. When resuming from a 15 week spell he battled steadily for 5.33 lengths 4th in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 6 February, then kept coming steadily and edged ahead in the final strides for a 0.32 length win over 1500m at Pinjarra Park on 21 February. He is well-placed here and should win again.

Each Way

The Thunderess (Ascot Race 5 No. 9):
This four-year-old Wandjina mare has one wins and one place from eight starts. She came from last and made some ground for 2.2 lengths 5th over 1216m at Bunbury on 3 January, then was slowly away, held up from the turm to 250m then went to the centre of the track and ran on strongly for 3.16 lengths 5th over 1400m at Bunbury with a good final 400m sectional. I get the impression she is looking for longer and is worth an each-way bet as she steps up to 1600m.

Best Lay

Amasenus (Ascot Race 2 No. 9):
This four-year-old Time For War mare has one win and two places from eight starts and is the early favourite in this Class 3 handicap over 1000m. At the end of last campaign she had a narrow lead before being caught late for a close 2nd over 1000m at Northam on 7 October. Resuming after a 19 week spell she was heavily checked but got going again late for 1.39 lengths 4th over 1100m at Ascot on 20 February. She drops back in distance here and I’m prepared to risk her.

Horse Racing Tips: SA Friday 17th May 2024

Key Comments The dirt track is rated Good and the rail is in the true position. Sairyn Fawke and Caitlin Tootell both have some good rides. Best Bet Shalaga (Port Augusta Race 4 No. 1) Shalaga has won his last 2 races (both at this track and distance) and won the latest by 6.5 lengths. Carries 0.5 kg more than last outing and Caitlin Tootell retains the ride. Top pick. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Friday 17th May 2024

Key Comments The rail is out 9 metres the entire way. The best bet comes up in the last race of the day and is progressive enough to go right on with things. Best Bet Hypeman (Cranbourne Race 8 No. 6) Won nicely breaking maiden and looks progressive enough to go on with things here. Can bounce to the front from barrier 1 and looks a suitable race for Ethan Brown to take out. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker

Horse Racing Tips: NSW Friday 17th May 2024

Key Comments The feature race is the Scone Cup (race 8). The rail is in the true position. The best bet looks a sure thing. Best Bet La Pleine Lune (Scone Race 5 No. 3) Absolutely romped in on debut. Concede it was in the right part of the track when the rail as hot however the race rated well, it had plenty more to give and the runner up has walked in since. Looks the good thing of all good things.

Horse Racing Tips: Happy Valley, Wednesday 15th May 2024

Key Comments There is a 9-race program under the lights at Happy Valley. The rail is in the C position for the meeting, and the skies are clear so the track should be a Good 4. The first race is at 6.40pm Hong Kong time which is 8.40pm AEST. Best Bet Turin Warrior (Happy Valley Race 7 No. 3) Last-start winner at this track and distance. He’s drawn well and Karis Teetan sticks. Strong chance. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson
