Our Bunbury Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
Montelena (Bunbury Race 9 No. 7)
This four-year-old Rubick mare trained by Darren McAuliffe has five wins and four places from 14 starts. She resumed after a 22 week spell for 3.32 lengths 4th over 1600m at Pinjarra Park on 6 February, then was just outmuscled for 0.82 length 2nd in the Listed Detonator Stakes over 1800m at Ascot on 20 February where she suffered from heat stress. She goes well on a soft track, goes well third-up and has won her only other start at this distance. Looks the main chance.

What About Moses (Bunbury Race 7 No. 7):
This five-year-old Playing God gelding has been the model of consistency this campaign with three wins and four places from seven starts this season. He found the lead at the 150m but was overhauled late to finish 0.42 lengths 2nd over 1400m at Pinjarra Park on 6 February, then he took over at the 200m and won by 0.17 length over 1600m at Ascot on 20 February. He looks a good each-way bet again.

Gemma’s Son (Bunbury Race 4 No. 1):
This three-year-old Snippetson colt is the early favourite in this 78+ handicap over 1000m. He won by 3.2 lengths in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy over 1200m at Pinjarra Park on 6 February, then tired in the final 100m for 1.6 lengths 7th in the Listed Pinjarra Classic on 21 February. He has a 3kg claim but still carries 3kg more than last start and doesn’t represent value.
