Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Saturday’s meeting.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES FORECAST FOR SATURDAY THIS MEETING HAS BEEN ABANDONED. THE RACES SCHEDULED WILL NOW BE RUN ON MONDAY 24 JANUARY.
Spin The Knife (Ascot Race 1 No. 1)
Spin The Knife resumes in this 3YO Plate after a 15 week spell. In the Spring he won by 3.2 lengths over 1000m at Belmont on 25 September, then was picked off in the final stride for 0.1 length 2nd in the 3YO Classic over 1000m at Ascot on 9 October. Has won both his previous first-up starts and has a class edge. Rates very well and will be hard to beat.

Beret (Ascot Race 8 No. 5):
Beret is a track specialist and has won her last four starts in a row. This five-year-old Helmet mare trained by Adam Durrant won the Listed Starstruck Classic by 0.8 length over 1600m at Ascot on 18 December, then won the Group 3 La Trice Classic by 0.7 length over 1800m at Ascot on 1 January. She drops back to 1500m here and looks a strong each-way chance.

Burnya To Survive (Ascot Race 9 No. 7):
This four-year-old Bradbury’s Luck gelding trained by Jason Miller has three wins and a place from four starts and is the early favourite in this RTG 66+ Handicap over 1400m. He ran on well for a 1.2 length win over 1200m at Belmont on 30 December, then got there late for a 0.4 length win over 1200m at Ascot on 8 January. Tackling the 1400m for the first time and up in grade. He will run his usual good race but I don’t think he will win.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 28th April 2024
Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game

Key Comments There are 7 races on a Good track where the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Lord Valen (Strathalbyn Race 2 No. 3) He’s been runner-up at both starts this campaign, at Murray Bridge then Balaklava. He gets his chance to lose his maiden status here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Tennessee Maggie (Strathalbyn Race 4 No. 12) Tennessee Magic was runner-up at Gawler last start and should

Key Comments Features are the $75,000 The Fitzroy Open over 1300m (race 6) and $775,000 The Archer over 1300m (race 7). The track is rated Soft and the rail is +2.5m the entire circuit. Best Bet Penman (Rockhampton Race 5 No. 3) Last start he led most of the way on a bog track before being overhauled late. On a better track he should be hard to beat. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 28th April 2024
Key Comments 8 race card with a few short favourites that look hard to beat. The best bet comes up in race 5 and is knocking on the door for a win. Best Bet Subrising (Ballarat Race 5 No. 6) Comes off the back of 2 second placings and Egan will ride from the wide draw. A lot to like about the past few runs and looks a better hope than the favourite who may just get too far back in this.
