Our Morphettville Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature races are the Port Adelaide Guineas (race 7) and the Dequetteville Stakes (race 4).

Translation (Morphettville Race 4 No. 2)
This two-year-old Frosted filly trained by James Cummings has had a win and a place from three starts. She jumped awkwardly, raced to the lead then was headed for 7.85 lengths 5th over 1000m at Flemington on 1 January, then was keen to get to the front and bolted away for a 3.5 length win over 1000m at Cranbourne on 26 March. She looks as if she is still learning her craft but has ability and looks very well placed here.

Oh Mo  (Morphettville Race 5 No. 7):
This six-year-old Uncle Mo gelding has five wins and eight places from 28 starts and won at this track and distance last start. He settled well back and worked home steadily for 2 lengths 5th over 1400m at Morphettville Parks on 13 March, then settled well back and after being checked at the 300m he picked up strongly and went past them all for a 0.9 length win over 1600m at Morphettville on 27 March, That was a good effort and he looks a nice bet at each-way odds.

Best Lay

Blue Ocean (Morphettville Race 2 No. 3):
This four-year-old Ocean Park gelding trained by Phillip Stokes is the early favourite in this BM 72 handicap over 2025m. He battled on steadily for 2.7 lengths 5th when favourite over 2025m at Cranbourne on 5 March, then got close at the 100m but peaked at the end for 0.75 length 2nd over 2100m at Sandown Lakeside on 24 March. With one win and six places from 12 starts he doesn’t win out of turn and I don’t think this is his race.
