Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.
The feature races are the Natasha Stakes for 3YO fillies (race 5) and the J.C. Roberts Stakes for 3YO C&G’s (race 7).
Western Empire (Ascot Race 7 No. 1)
This three-year-old gelding trained by Grant and Alana Williams has two wins and four places from seven starts. He was outsprinted to finish 1.63, 1.95 lengths 3rd in the Listed Challenge Stakes over 1500m at Ascot on 13 February, then won by 5.5 lengths in the Listed Lex Piper Stakes over 1600m at Ascot on 27 February. That was a very impressive win and he should win again.

Sir Mambo (Ascot Race 4 No. 1):
This five-year-old War Chant gelding has not been far from the winner in his two starts back from a 20 week spell. On resuming he fought evenly to the line for 1.34 lengths 4th over 1100m at Ascot on 23 January, then he had a tough run and finished 0.78, 0.46 length 3rd over 1200m at Ascot on 13 February. He has won three races at this track and with a 2kg claim he looks worth an each-way bet.

Best Lay
Secret Lair (Ascot Race 1 No. 3):
This Galah colt is the early favourite in this 2YO Plate over 1200m. He has only had one start and finished 0.16, 2.77 lengths 3rd over 1100m at Ascot on 13 February. That was a nice debut effort but he offers no value at the current price.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 28th April 2024
Key Comments The track is Soft and the rail is +4 metres the entire circuit. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Sky Land (Hobart Race 1 No. 10) This 2YO filly takes on the older horses here but has been very game

Key Comments There are 7 races on a Good track where the rail is in the true position. Best Bet Lord Valen (Strathalbyn Race 2 No. 3) He’s been runner-up at both starts this campaign, at Murray Bridge then Balaklava. He gets his chance to lose his maiden status here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way Tennessee Maggie (Strathalbyn Race 4 No. 12) Tennessee Magic was runner-up at Gawler last start and should

Key Comments Features are the $75,000 The Fitzroy Open over 1300m (race 6) and $775,000 The Archer over 1300m (race 7). The track is rated Soft and the rail is +2.5m the entire circuit. Best Bet Penman (Rockhampton Race 5 No. 3) Last start he led most of the way on a bog track before being overhauled late. On a better track he should be hard to beat. Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 28th April 2024
Key Comments 8 race card with a few short favourites that look hard to beat. The best bet comes up in race 5 and is knocking on the door for a win. Best Bet Subrising (Ballarat Race 5 No. 6) Comes off the back of 2 second placings and Egan will ride from the wide draw. A lot to like about the past few runs and looks a better hope than the favourite who may just get too far back in this.
