The Lex Piper Stakes is a 1600 metre set weights plus penalties race for three-year-old colts and geldings run by the Western Australian Turf Club in February or early March. It is held at Ascot as one of the feature events of the meeting.

The registered race name is the TJ Smith Trophy and over the years it has been run over different distances and at different times of the year. In the 2007/2008 season it was moved to the start of the autumn carnival to be used as a lead up to the WA Derby and the distance became 1600m. It has been run as the Lex Piper from 2014.
