Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature races are the Ascot 1000 Guineas for 3YO fillies (race 7) and the Lex Piper Stakes (race 5).

Tambora (Ascot Race 6 No. 6)
This three-year-old gelding from the Darren McAuliffe stable has two wins and a place from three starts. He led but faded a little in the final 150m for 2.05 lengths 2nd over 1600m at Ascot on 9 January, then led all the way and hung on for a 0.58 length win over 1400m at Bunbury on 11 February. He drops 5kg from his last run and has the ability to win again.

Each Way

Indigo Blue (Ascot Race 7 No. 2):
This three-year-old Blackfriars filly has one wins and three places from seven starts, and has shown staying potential. She was a very close 2nd in the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes over 1600m at Ascot on 14 November before a 12 week spell, then resumed for 3.22 lengths 10th over 1300m at Pinjarra Park on 6 February. She won at Belmont in her only previous second-up attempt and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Tommy Blue (Ascot Race 8 No. 3):
This four-year-old Gingerbread Man mare has two wins and five places from 12 starts and is the early favourite in this One Metro Win handicap over 1400m. She just battled to the line for 2.8 lengths 6th over 1200m at Pinjarra, then boxed on for 1.68 lengths 4th over 1200m at Ascot on 13 February. I don’t think the 1400m will suit and am prepared to risk her here.

Key Comments The sand track is rated Good and the weather is fine. The rail is in the true position. Best Bet Miracoli (Alice Springs Race 5 No. 7) Miracoli was a 5.3 length winer at this track and distance last start. Should race on the speed and be hard to beat. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Jo Jackson Each Way That's Justified (Alice Springs Race 4 No. 2) This 9YO notched up his 22nd win

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 5th May 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Best Bet Seydoux (Devonport Synthetic Race 5 No. 2) She led all the

Horse Racing Tips: VIC Sunday 5th May 2024

Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
