The Vanity Race Information
The Vanity is a 1400 metre set weights plus penalties race for three-year-old fillies run by the Victorian Racing Club in February. It is held at Caulfield on Lightning Stakes day.

The Vanity Race History
The race was first held in 1986 as The Vanity over 1400m and was won by Bestaburgh. The following year it became a Listed race and was won by Pseudonym Miss. In 2000 it was upgraded to the current Group 3 Status.
The race is held on the same day as the CS Hayes Stakes which is the equivalent race for 3YO colts and geldings.
In 2024 it was run on 17 February then the VRC made changes to the spring calendar to move it to Derby Day on 2nd November, meaning two runnings in 2024.
