The Maybe Mahal Stakes is a 1400 metre set weights and penalties race for mares four-year-olds and up run by the Victorian Racing Club in early November. It is held at Flemington as part of the Melbourne Cup Racing Carnival.

The race was first held as a Listed race in 2005 when it was won by Vintner trained by David Hayes and ridden by Dwayne Dunn. It was upgraded to its current Group 3 status in 2011. The registered name is the Maybe Mahal Stakes after a top class mare trained by Bart Cummings, but it has been run as the Liberty Financial Stakes, Herald Sun Stakes, Lavazza Short Black, Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes and the Jim Beam Stakes.
