Mannerism Stakes Race Information
The Mannerism Stakes is a 1400 metre set weight and penalties race for mares four-years-old and up run by the Melbourne Racing Club in late February. It is run at Caulfield as part of the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival.

The race was first held over 1600m in 1957 and was won by a mare called Sleep Tight. It became a Listed race in 1988 then in 1993 was upgraded to the current Group 3 status. Previously known as the Fashion Stakes it was renamed the Mannerism Stakes in 1995 in honour of the horse that won the 1991 Australasian Oaks and the 1992 Caulfield Cup.

Interesting trivia: Highest weight to win was 60.5kg carried by Nunkalowe in 1977. ** In 2016 the race was won by Azkadellia but she was later disqualified by Racing Victoria as owner Peter Foster was a convicted criminal who had attempted to conceal his interest in the horse.
