Warrnambool Cup 2023 Runner by Runner

1. Mankayan

Has been building nicely this prep.  Last start was a very solid fourth behind White Marlin.  Suspect he has been set for this.  Loves wet ground.

2. Third Realm

Has been back to the jump outs since finishing last at Group 3 level at only Aus start.  Market best guide.

3. Auroa’s Symphony

Was second in the Adelaide Cup two starts back.  Stable flying plus gets Nash.

4. Swords Drawn

Unlucky not to finish a bit closer in a strong edition of the Mornington Cup last start.  Is racing very well at the moment and looks an each way chance here at odds.

5. Cadre Du Noir

One of the Maher runners.  He’d be right in this if he could get back to his spring form.  Wary.

6. Not Usual Glorious

Lead all the way to win the Terang Cup last start.  Loves wet ground.

7. Heart Of Puissance

Ran 2nd in this race in 2021. Jumps sharply in trip however is in a good camp and has a great record here.  Would not come as a surprise to see him run really well.

8. Mahamedeis

Work through the line last start was solid enough.  Place hope.

9. Le Baol

Might of been half a run short last start when only whacking away at Randwick.  Back to the jump outs since.  Chance.

10. Caboche

Likes wet ground but looks outclassed.

11. Irish Butterfly

Backs up after winning the same lead in race as last years winner ultra impressively on Saturday.   4.25 lengths the winning margin eased down.  Drops 4kg for this.  Keen he runs really well.

12. Extra Elusive

Blinkers go on for the first time but needs to improve on his fourth placing in the Terang Cup last start.

13. Rolls

It remains to be seen whether he backs up after finishing second here on Tuesday.  Can run a cheeky race if he does.

14. Mystery Island

Ran on pretty well in a bm 78 at Mornington last start, loves wet ground and gets a nice drop in the weights for this.

15. Glitter ‘N’ Gold

Terrific winner here two back in 58 grade.  This is much harder.

16. Bazini

Saved from Tuesday to run here.  Thought his run in the Terang Cup was very good.  Can only improve off that.

17e. Essential Sky

Wet tracker who gets the services of M Dee.  Consider for multiples.

18e. Feuermond  – SCRATCHED

19e. Lord Goldberg

Finished last on Tuesday at BM 70 level.  Looks a big throw at the stumps.
