Track: Soft 5 Weather: Showers

Open field takes place this year. All That Pizzazz comes up with a wide draw but this race is within reach and should be going close with even luck from the barrier. Iowna Merc hasn’t been the punters pal this prep but strikes a suitable opportunity here. Tashi is never far off them but is also drawn poorly while Jigsaw will need a stack of luck from out in 20 but does have the class to overcome that and notch up a win in this.

Can’t have.

2. All That Pizzazz (12)

Will need plenty of luck from the draw but has been around the mark all prep. J-Mac steers and ticks enough boxes to take this out.

3. Jigsaw (20)

Has the class but also has the task ahead from barrier 20 and will need a very good ride from out there. Goes in the mix and has been heavily backed.

4. The Big Goodbye (9)

Poor last run but can bounce back to form in this. Proven at this level and is within the chances.

5. Zarastro (6)

Can’t have.

6. Shooting For Gold (4)

Hasn’t won for a while. This looks out of reach.

7. Kalino (19)

Suited if the track stays dry and has won over this trip a few times. Not hopeless at odds.

8. Ghaanati (7)

Brings in some strong form via the Dane Ripper stakes, maps for a nice run and is weighted well. Makes for good appeal.

9. King Kapa (8)

Can’t have.

10. Semillion (21)

Scratched.

11. Mishani Sniper (2)

This looks too tough.

12. Tashi (13)

Solid last start second behind Semillion. That looks the right form for this but will need a pinch of luck from barrier 13.

13. Deepour (11)

Can’t have.

14. Iowna Merc (5)

Should be around the mark in this and suited from barrier 5. Thornton rides and boats a strong record across all conditions. Been hard to catch for punters this prep however is a leading chance.

Can’t have.

16. Dashing Legend (16)

Prefer others.

17. Ka Bling (14)

This looks too tough.

18. Willinga Beast (10)

Good win last start off the back of a luckless runner up. Gets the in form Gibbons riding and that form should hold up here.

19. Sweet Margot May (1)

Can’t have.

20. Hatchet (3)

Prefer others.

21. Shalaa’s Moment (18)

Built up a strong record this prep and couldn’t make it 4 straight last start however had no luck. Big odds in this and likeable chance.
