Stradbroke Handicap 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Huge field and cracking race. Think About It continues to win and can get the job done again in this despite the wide draw. Hawaii Five Oh has been very good to date and looks well placed from barrier 3. Converge looks back on track form wise and can give this a shake while Yellow Brick is waiting to get into the field and is still a chance despite the poor barrier. Plenty of pace on in this and luck in running.

Maps for a horror run but has the speed to offset the draw. Good enough to win this race but will need some luck in running.
2. Superstorm (16)
Can’t have.
3. Vilana (15)
$51 into $20. Huge betting push and J-Mac has given it a strong push mid week. Chance in this field and very classy.
4. Scallopini (8)
Honest runner but this looks a bit out of reach.
5. Converge (17)
Back in form. Tough draw and needs things to fall into place but expect an aggressive ride from Clark. This race is suitable.
6. Surf Dancer (7)
Prefer others.
7. Gentleman Roy (2)
On pacer who should give a sight from barrier 2. Good enough to take this out.
8. Eleven Eleven (20)
Can’t have.
9. Think About It (12)
Hard to beat. Needs some luck from the barrier but deserves to be favourite. Maps a little sticky but looks hard to beat.
10. Cardinal Gem (6)
Classy galloper with a booming turn of foot. Capable of taking this out.
11. Holyfield (21)
Can’t have.
12. Aft Cabin (19)
Maps tricky but good enough to run into a placing. Looks the right price.
13. Roysl Merchant (14)
Gone in leaps and bounds this prep and can win again. Classy and looks good price.
14. Ruthless Dame (13)
Flying under the radar in this. Needs a bit of luck but classy galloper from the right stable. Goes in the mix.
15. Chain of Lightning (18)
Will need a stack of luck from out there. Prefer others.
16. Palaisipan (11)
Can’t have.
17. Tick Tock Queen (4)
This looks too tricky.
18. Hawaii Five Oh (3)
Lucky to win last start but this race is within reach. Maps well and has done nothing wrong this prep. Can win this and looks the right price.

Can’t have.
20e. Opal Ridge (10)
Needs scratchings to get in. Big chance if it does. Huge win last start and good enough to win this.

Can’t have.

Prefer others.

Needs a few scratchings but chance if it gets in. Mighty unlucky to lose last start but will need a miracle from out there.
