Race 8 at Rosehill Racecourse on Saturday the 26th of August 2023.
The San Domenico Stakes is a Group 3 race held at Rosehill Racecourse and is run over 1100 metres. It is run under set weights and penalties conditions and is for horses aged three-years-old. The total prize money is $250,000 this year.

San Domenico Stakes 2023 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Handy field with most having intertwining form. The Instructor was good to us last prep winning multiple times and was a solid run on resuming. Corniche wasn’t far off The Instructor last prep and took leaps and bounds after that. Resumes off a break and sure to be going close. Libertad has good ability and should be suited back off the heavy ground. Introducing has always shown good ability and may go on with it this prep now.
San Domenico Stakes 2023 Runner by Runner
1. Corniche (6)
Holds big claims particularly the win over Shinzo which reads beautifully for this. Only knock on the form is well beaten by The Instructor last prep. Goes close with luck.
2. Barber (13)
Tough draw but does have ability. Keep an eye on any market moves for it.
3. Libertad (12)
Superb last prep and hard to knock in this. Has a stack of upside and remains a strong chance in a very wide open race.
4. The Instructor (8)
Excellent return. Has an ideal on pace running pattern and should give them something to catch. Major player.
5. Introducing (4)
Has shown good talent to date and drawn well. Keep an eye on the market.
6. Butch Cassidy (2)
Prefer others.
7. Armed Forces (3)
Finds a rise in grade. Leaning to others.
8. General Salute (5)
Can’t have.
9. Kandinsky Abstract (11)
Strong debut win but much harder here and does look priced on the J-Mac factor. Can go close with luck.
10. Fire Star (7)
Not the worst. Brings in sound form. Can give this a shake.
11. Moravia (9)
Nice win but much harder here. Respect any market moves.
12. Cigar Flick (10) – SCRATCHED
13. Untouchable Legend (1)
Solid debut win. Harder here but gets the gun jockey. Respect.
