2024 Gunsynd Classic Details
Race 5 at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday 15th June 2024.
The Gunsynd Classic is a Group 3 race held at Eagle Farm Racecourse and is run over 1600 metres. It is for three-year-olds and is run under set weights conditions. The total prize money is $200,000 this year.
Gunsynd Classic 2024 Preview
Track: Good 4 Weather: Fine
Last years edition was taken out by Rediener with an on speed win and the year prior by Kiss Sum. Open field with Razors leading the betting. This Godolphin runner can bounce back after an average run last start. Invincible Spy is flying and looking for three wins in a row. Port Lockroy can improve and should be in the finish while Geriatrix brings in some strong NZ form and is suited here. A lot to like about the last start win of Miss Aria but she will need luck from the draw.

Good enough to win this but the draw makes things hard. Should be suited up in trip and brings in the class factor.

Can’t have.
3. Razors (3)
Gallant behind the likes of Kintyre and Panic which is good form for this. Maps well and J-Mac steers. This race suits.
4. Snow Patrol (16)
Can’t have.
5. Bases Loaded (15)
Tough draw but has been racing well including a last start 5th behind Roll On High. That form should hold up here.
6. Invincible Spy (7)
Has notched up two wins in a row and looks for the hat trick. Has a suitable on pace running pattern and should give this a shake.
7. More Trouble (17)
Can’t have.
8. Port Lockroy (11)
Improver that looks suited to this field. Proven at this level and is hovering around the right odds.
9. Geriatrix (4)
NZ raider that won on local debut. Maps well and has good form lines around it. Goes in the mix.
10. Mchale (6)
Can’t have.
11. Winsome Star (5)
Prefer others.
12. Trifling (1)
This looks too tough.
13. Miss Aria (19)
She had no favours last run and still found to win running away. Any luck from barrier 19 and she looks the one.
14. Pier Pressure (8)
Can’t have.
15. Mary Shan (14)
Import who won last start. Back onto a drier track is a query but going well enough.
16. Grey Ice (2)
Can’t have.
17. Extraordinaire (10)
This looks too tough.
18. Dangerous Liaisons (9)
Leaning to others.
