Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) 2022 Preview

Track: Good Weather: Chance of a shower

There are fourteen acceptors for the $200,000 Fillies edition of the Listed Blue Diamond Preview – eight are debutants.  There are two daughters of Capitalist and two daughters of I Am Invincible in the race and both the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr and James Cummings stables have multiple runners.  The early favourite in an open betting race is Jewellery.  She was an eye catcher here on debut after drifting back and flying home into second place.  Next in the betting is Latizia.  The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace impressed winning down the Flemington straight on New Years Day.

Peter Gelagotis’ runner Miss Roseinao has jumped out well and it is no surprise to see her met with some good support in the early betting.  Bistro lead all the way to win over this trip at Sandown at her debut.  Satin Love is a half sister to the talented Immortal Love and is another of the recent jump out winners.  I’mlovin’ya draws the middle of the line for Craig Newitt.  Multiple Group 1 trainer Peter Moody saddles up Waltz On ByQueen Maeve draws to get a soft run from barrier four, while Written Swoosh scored easily in her latest jump out.  The remaining runners are longer than $20-1.

Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) Runner by Runner

1. Latizia

Was a smart Flemington winner on debut.  Drawn wide here but that is never a big issue out of the chute at Caulfield.  One of the key winning chances.

2. Satin Love

$800,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales.  Was second in the Group 3 Ottawa Stakes during the Melbourne Cup Carnival.  Resumes here with Mark Zahra in the saddle after a narrow Werribee jump out win.  In the mix.

3. Va Via

First of the Godolphin runners.  Has been placed in both Flemington runs and is drawn to get last crack at them here.  Each way claims.

4. Bistro

Was well supported at Sandown on debut.  Professional effort there – bouncing to the lead and staving off her rivals to win by a length.  Think she will need to improve off that to be a factor here though.

5. Jewellery

We added this daughter of Lohnro to the Black Book after an excellent run here on debut.  She got back and charged home to just miss Philosopher who goes around a warm favourite in race 1.  Major player here.

6. Poiema

Far from disgraced on debut behind Philosopher.  Hard to see her turning the tables on Jewellery but maps to get a good run and could be considered for multiples.

7. Aoife

Jump and run style filly who was pushed out to win a Tatura trial by four lengths on January 13.  Expect Michael Dee to be nice and positive from the inside gate.

8. Berry Bubbly

First starter with Jamie Kah booked to ride.  Kept finding under pressure to win most recent Cranbourne jump out.  Safely held behind I’mlovin’ya in jump out prior.  Watch betting.

9. Cannoli   –  SCRATCHED

Price & Kent runner.  Was safely held in only recent jump out.  Prefer others here.

10. I’mlovin’ya

Debutant.  Quickened nicely to win her latest Cranbourne jump out.  Could end up with a lovely run in behind a good tempo here.  Each way claims.

11. Miss Roseiano

Has been met with good support in early betting markets.  Soft Pakenham jump out win in solid time.  Big watch.

12. Queen Maeve

Has had two jump outs leading in.  Haven’t seen enough in either to be recommending as a bet in this.

13. Waltz On By

Peter Moody has unveiled some nice two year olds in recent times and he looks to have another promising one here.  She lead and won a Pakenham jump out with ease and draws well here.

14. Written Swoosh

Snagged at the start, then quickened nicely to win a recent Pakenham jump out.  Can settle handy from the inside gate and gets a leading rider in Brett Prebble for this first up assignment.  Roughie with a chance.
