Eskimo Prince Stakes Race Information
The Eskimo Prince Stakes is a 1200 metre set weights plus penalties race for three-year-olds run by the Australian Turf Club in early February. It is held at Randwick as one of the feature events of the meeting.

The race was first held as the Eskimo Prince Quality Handicap over 1280m at Canterbury Park racecourse in 1984, when it was won by a horse called Run Ashore ridden by Wayne Harris. The same jockey won the following year on Pago’s Yarn. In 1986 it became a Listed Race and was won by All In A Name ridden by G. Duffy. In 1987 the distance became 1200m until it was reduced to 11oom in 1991 then returned to the current 1200m distance in 2008. The venue has changed many times between Canterbury, Rosehill, Warwick Farm and Randwick. It was promoted to Group 3 status in 2015.
The race is named in honour of 1964 Golden Slipper winner Eskimo Prince.
