This three-year-old Husson gelding has two wins and a place from four starts,and like all the others in the field he is having his first try at this distance. He was outsprinted when a length 2nd over 1600m at Launceston on 12 December, then swung very wide in the straight and finished best for a 1.5 length win in the Listed Tasmanian Guineas over 1600m at Launceston on 8 January. He’s is going well and looks the likely winner.

Appraise (Launceston Race 8 No. 4):
This five-year-old Needs Further gelding has had 18 starts for three wins and seven places, including two wins and five places at this track. He laboured and died on his run in the straight to finish 7.95 lengths 7th over 1200m at Launceston on 16 December, then ground home for 6.5 lengths 7th over 1150m at Devonport Tapeta Synthetic on 6 Janaury. He shopuld race on the speed here and is worth an each-way bet.

This four-year-old mare is the early favourite in this 3YO & up maiden over 1100m. She finished 7.34 lengths 6th over 1100m at Gosford on 8 October, then battled on well for 1.25, 0.04 lengths 3rd over 1010m at Dubbo on 31 October. First-up here from an 11 week spell she has won a 700m trial at Longford recently, but her price offers no value.
