Seleque (Canterbury Race 3 No. 3):
This three-year-old Deep Field filly trained by Chris Waller has three wins and four places from nine starts. At the end of last campaign she fought on strongly to prevail late for a 0.45 length win over 1200m at Gosford on 1 April where she had the best last 800m-200m race sectional, then was spelled for 12 weeks. She resumed on a heavy track where she kept coming to find the front at the 200m and went clear for a length win over 1100m at Warwick Farm on 30 June. Rates highly and should win.
Imposing Beau (Canterbury Race 5 No. 11):
This three-year-old Brazen Beau gelding trained by Team Hawkes has one win and one place from four starts. He took over at the 250m and fought on strongly before going down late for a narrow 2nd over 1200m at Newcastle on 5 June, then he raced keen but was beaten at the 300m and finished 6.14 lengths 6th over 1300m at Rosehill on 26 June. Has the speed to overcome his wide draw and should improve on last run.
This three-year-old Tobique gelding trained by Bjorn Baker is the early favourite in this BM 72 handicap over 1550m. When resuming from a 17 week spell he finished 1.3 lengths 5th over 1200m at Warwick Farm on heavy going on 14 June, then took over at the 280m but was run down late for 0.55 length 2nd over 1400m at Warwick Farm on heavy going on 30 June. Has a big weight and a wide barrier and I’m prepared to risk him here.

Our Launceston Horse Racing Tips for Sunday. The track is a Soft 5 and the rail is in the true position. The features are the Gold Sovereign Stakes (race 5) and Tasmanian Oaks over 2100m (race 7). As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with an advantage to those who find the inside lanes in the straight. Best Bet Wings Of Song (Launceston Race 7 No. 1) Made it 4 wins
Our Ballarat Tips for Sunday's meeting. Key Comments The rail is out 1 metre from the 400m to the winning post and true for the remainder. The drop in class is ideal for the best bet who looks very well placed. Best Bet Altermatum (Ballarat Race 2 No.7) Chased home Hayasugi last start and that form has been franked again today. Looks very well placed in this company and should get a dream run from the draw. $2.70 is over the odds in
