Athiri (Randwick Race 1 No. 11):
This Lonhro mare trained by James Cummings is the early favourite in this BM 88 Handicap over 1200m. He resumed after 40 weeks for a close 2nd over 1000m om a heavy track at Randwick on 15 August, then got held up and was never really clear when 3.2 lengths 7th over 1100m at Randwick on 5 September. He has only won once in 13 starts and doesn’t look like value.

Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
