Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.

Tamilaide (Doomben Race 4 No. 2)
This three-year-old Adelaide gelding trained by Les Kelly has two wins and two place from four starts. When resuming from a 10 week break he took over at the 200m and raced away for a 2.75 length win over 1300m on a heavy track at Gold Coast on 12 May, then started favourite and was held up before running on for 1.25, 1 length 3rd over 1350m at Doomben on 2 June. Gets going late and looks the leading hope again.

Bring It Home Pop (Doomben Race 7  No. 6):
This six-year-old Rothesay gelding has had six wins and six places from 31 starts. He was slowly away and got well back before finishing 2.95 lengths 7th over 1200m at Doomben on 7 November, then didn’t go on in the final 250m and finished 4.55 lengths 8th over 1200m at Rockhmapton on 18 December and was spelled. Resomes here from a 25 week spell and goes well fresh. Looks a good each-way bet.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 5th May 2024

Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
