Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

Skins (Doomben Race 9 No. 15)
This five-year-old Sepoy gelding trained by David Vandyke has four wins and two places from six starts. At the end of last campaign he settled 5th then took over at the 100m and drew away for a 2.75 length win over 1110m at Doomben on 31 October. When resuming after 21 weeks he was 6th on the home turn then took over at the 150m and raced away for a 3.25 length win over 1110m at Doomben on 31 March. The extra distance should suit and he is the leading chance in this race.

Each Way

Hallowed Girl (Doomben Race 3 No. 8):
This four-year-old Hallowed Crown mare has four wins and four places from 18 starts with two wins at this distance. After winning two races in a row she didn’t run on when 4.85 lengths 9th over 1805m at Eagle Farm on 6 March and was lame in the near foreleg. Following a 5 week spell she battled on for 5 lengths 4th on a soft track over 1615m at Doomben on 10 April. She drops 2kg from that run and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Kisukano (Doomben Race 8 No. 9):
This Bel Esprit filly has six wins and four places from 13 starts and is the early favourite in this Listed Mick Dittman 3YO Plate over 1110m. At 3 of her 4 starts since resuming from a 15 week spell she has started favourite and has not been able to win. She didn’t run on with the heavy track and finished 7.95 lengths 12th over 1200m at Gold Coast on 13 March, then led at the 200m but had no answer to the winner when 1.75 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Eagle Farm on 3 April.  This is a harder race, she has the outside barrier, and offers no value.
