Le Palmier (Doomben Race 7 No. 2)
This Spirit Of Boom gelding trained by Tony Gollan has four wins and four places from eight starts. He took over at the 100m and held on to win narrowly over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 29 August, then drew clear at the 100m and won by a comfortable 1.5 lengths over 1050m at Toowoomba on 26 September. He has won at this track and distance and looks the testing material.

Each Way

Leadership Spill (Doomben Race 4 No. 7):
This Top Echelon gelding got this campaign off to a strong start with a 0.4 length win over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 2 September, then finished 1.3 lengths 2nd in a Class 3 handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm on 23 September. He looks nicely placed here and looks a nice each-way bet.

Best Lay

Fun Fact  (Doomben Race 5 No. 3):
This five-year-old gelding is the early favourite in the Queensland Cup over 2200m. He was winded in the latter stages and finished 3.4 lengths 6th over 1600m at Randwick on 19 September, then was the early leader and battled on for 0.2 length, 1.5 lengths 3rd over 1900m at Rosehill Gardens on 26 September. He has won once over this distance but others look better over this journey.

Key Comments The rail is true. The track has been playing to those on speed lately. The first selection should be winning and makes a nice multi with the best bet. Best Bet Dantooine (Stawell Race 8 No. 1) Racing well and while the form from the Bool carnival has been sus, this 3yo Gelding made good ground on a track suiting those on speed.
