Zoustyle (Doomben Race 9 No. 5)
This six-year-old Zoustar gelding trained by Tony Gollan has eight wins and a place from 12 starts. Back in September 2020 he won a 900m sprint at the Gold Coast by 2.3 lengths. After that he didn’t race for over a year following a serious suspensory injury. He resumed over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast on 20 November where he won by 1.8 lengths and set a new track record. Should win.

Eloquently (Doomben Race 8 No. 11):
This four -year-old Poet’s Voice mare trained by Steve Tregea at Toowoomba has six wins and two places from 10 starts. At the end of last campaign she brought up her 6th consecutive win in a 3YO Fillies handicap over 1300m at Eagle Farm on 31 July. When resuming she was sent out favourite and just missed for a close 2nd over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast poly track on 26 November. Should be fitter now and looks a good each-way chance.

Ammoudi Bay (Doomben Race 2 No. 2):
This six-year-old Starcraft gelding trained by Olivia Cairns at Mackay is the early favourite in this No Metro Wins special conditions handicap over 1600m. He was a 0.3 length winner over 1400m at Mount Perry on 14 November, then faded in the straight for 2.2 lengths 5th over 1609m at Townsville on 21 November. He has drawn very wide and other runners offer better value.
