Our Belmont Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The feature race is the Belmont Newmarket (race 8).

Nobel Laurence (Belmont Race 4 No. 3)
This four-year-old Alfred Nobel gelding trained by Deane Skipworth has three wins and three places from eight starts. When resuming from a 14 week spell he chased gamely for 2.6 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Belmont on 10 July, then he was ridden out for a 0.6 length win over 1300m at Belmont on 24 July. Should settle off the speed then win again.

First Law (Belmont Race 5 No. 1):
This four-year-old Dalghar gelding trained by Simon Miller has two wins and seven places from 13 starts. He loomed at the top of the straight and kept fighting hard but was outgunned in the final 100m for 1.9 lengths 2nd over 1200m at Belmont on 21 July, then ran on strongly for 1.4 lengths 3rd over 1000m at Belmont on 31 July. Looks a solid each-way chance again.

Picture Perfect (Belmont Race 6 No. 5):
This six-year-old Reset gelding trained by Grant & Alana Williams has four wins and four places from 17 starts. He resumed after a 26 week spell for 2.6 lengths 4th over 1400m at Belmont on 17 July, then couldn’t finish off on the heavy track for 5.8 lengths 4th over 1650m at Belmont on 31 July. Gets the blinkers on for the first time but he offers no value.

Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
