Our Ascot Horse Racing Tips for Wednesday’s meeting.
Triple Missile (Ascot Race 6 No. 4)
This three-year-old Smart Missile gelding has only had two race starts and has won them both. He debuted with a 2.19 length win over 1200m at Belmont on 16 September where he drew clear in the final 100m, then he caught the leader late for a 0.58 length win over 1000m at Ascot on 10 February. He is clearly very talented, and only bad luck can beat him.

Lording (Ascot Race 8 No. 2):
This four-year-old Trade Fair gelding has raced nine times for one win and three places. He resumed after 19 weeks for 1.77 lengths 6th in a bunched finish over 1000m at Ascot on 27 January, then improved considerably to come from last for a very close 2nd over 1200m at Ascot on 10 February. The extra 200m is in his favour and he looks a good each-way chance here.

Pablo’s Poem (Ascot Race 7 No. 3):
This five-year-old Lope De Vega gelding is the early favourite in this No Metro Wins Last Year race over 1200m. Last campaign he faded for 7 lengths 14th over 1400m at Ascot on 24 October, then was spelled. He resumed for 3.09 lengths 12th over 1000m at Ascot on 13 February, where he was held-up at times. He seems too short in the market based on recent performances and I’m happy to risk him.

Horse Racing Tips: TAS Sunday 5th May 2024
Key Comments The track is a synthetic tapeta-based surface and weather has minimal effect on how it races. The rail remains in the true position. As a general rule, runners who land in the front half of the field are suited at this track, with a slight advantage to those who land forward of midfield and can find a cart into the race from the wider lanes in the straight. Key Comments The best bet is in the first and was explosive on debut. Expecting all to have their chance on this track that usually plays fair. Best Bet What A Cross (Sale Race 1 No. 10) Big finale on debut and looms at likeable odds here. Was smacked in betting then and almost pulled off the plunge when flying to the line. Looks a huge chance here. Check odds on SmartB Analyst: Bryce Parker
