Our Doomben Horse Racing Tips for the weekend.

The Harrovian (Doomben Race 6 No. 1)
This Fastnet Rock gelding trained by Stephen Massingham at Cairns has won eight races in a row giving him a career record of 14 starts and 4 places from 27 starts. He wound up from the top of the straight and stormed down the outside to win the Cairns Newmarket over 1400m by 1.75 lengths on 28 August, then was slowly away and got held up but still managed a narrow win in an open quality handicap over 1400m at Eagle Farm on 3 October. Will be hard to beat.

Grey Missile (Doomben Race 7 No. 7):
This six-year-old gelding trained by Toby Edmonds has 10 wins and 13 places from 35 starts. He has often carried big weights to win in North Queensland and has 5 wins at this distance. He finished last campaign with 1.25 lengths 2nd over 1300m at Gold Coast on 8 May then was spelled for 22 weeks. He resumed for 5.3 lengths 7th over 1200m at Doomben on 10 October, where he was crowded at the start, got back in running and was never a chance. He has won 4 from 5 second-up and can handle soft and heavy going so looks an excellent each-way bet.

So You Win  (Doomben Race 5 No. 3):
This six-year-old So You Think gelding is the early favourite in this BM 90 Handicap over 2040m. He was well back and never really got clear when 3.7 lengths 9th in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes over 1500m at Rosehill on 26 September, then didn’t run on when switched inside runners but did have the best 800m-400m race sectional when 7.7 lengths 8th in the Spring Mile over 1600m at Randwick on 17 October 2020. He needs to lift and doesn’t represent value.
