Round 6 in Review

Amazingly St Kilda traded at $1.01 in the run before coughing up a 36-point lead to a depleted Fremantle to cripple our multi last week. Our other primary bet was Gold Coast at the + 6.5 line – they were neck and neck for the majority of their encounter with Melbourne before the Dee’s kicked two late goals to go out 17-point winners.

AFL ROUND 7 PREVIEW

Sydney $2.18 v Gold Coast $1.70

The early market for this game has been flipped on its head with the injury news out of the Swans camp during the week. Sydney, a team already struggling, will lose stars Josh Kennedy and Issac Heney for a significant period of time.

This opens the door for Gold Coast to get back on the winners list. They are coming off two losses to Geelong and Melbourne but as I mentioned, they stuck with the Dee’s for virtually all of the game last week and as long as they can keep the clamps on an inform Tom Papley should be able to get over the top of the Swans here.

  • Suggested Bet: Gold Coast to win
  • Odds: $1.70

Fremantle $3.35 v West Coast $1.33

This is arguably the match of the round as footy returns to Perth for the local derby. Last week we talked about Fyfe and his importance to his side – well on Thursday it was announced that he is out of this game with injury…

There was a lot of noise coming out of the Eagles hub that the players and staff were less than happy. That is no longer an excuse for them now and they have a full head of steam returning to WA off the back of two comfortable wins. I was tempted by the line in this game but with rain forecast in Perth for Friday and Saturday I will instead opt to use West Coast as a win bet for Multi’s.

  • Suggested Bet: West Coast to win
  • Odds: $1.33
