The Nivison Race Information

The Nivison is a 1200 metre set weights plus penalties race for mares four-years-old and up run by the Australian Turf Club in late October. It is held at Randwick as part of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.

The Nivison Race History

The race was first held over 1200m at Randwick in 1994 and was won by Aunty Mary. It was held as a Listed race from 1997 to 2012 then was upgraded to its current Group 3 status in 2013. Although it has been held at Warwick Farm on a couple of occasions it has mostly remained at Randwick.

It is the last Group race of the Sydney Spring carnival, and is held on City Tatt’s day along with the $1,000,000 Bondi Stakes, the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes and the Listed City Tatt’s Club Cup over 2400m.
