The Wangoom Handicap is a Listed race held at Warrnambool Racecourse and is run over 1200 metres. It is run under handicap conditions. The total prize money is $200,000 this year.

Wangoom Handicap 2024 Preview
Track: Good Weather: Fine
Open race. Midtown Boss maps well and has been super consistent this prep. Tuvalu brings in the class factor and is 3/3 on this track. Is It Me maps for a lovely run and is good enough to give this a shake. Showmanship is off a long break but needs well from the barrier . Nicolini Vito will be flying late and goes in the mix.

1. Tuvalu (9)
Class of the race that is 3/3 on this track and is well and truly proven at this level and beyond. Goes on top but will need a good ride from there.
2. Showmanship (17)
Very tough draw but resumes off a break and does have the class and quality to give this a shake.
3. Spring Tide (7)
This looks too tough.
4. It’sourtime (13)
Going better than the form guide says and does bring class to the table. Player at odds.
5. Frankie Pinot (5)
Flies on this track, maps well and can bob up at odds.
6. Crosshaven (12)
Prefer others.
7. Flash Flood (1)
Quality runner. Maps to do no work and the stable are flying thus far in the carnival. Big hope.
8. Nicolini Vito (4)
Good return run and suited to this field. Winnable weight and maps well.
9. Senegalia (10)
Has put together two good wins in a row. Wide draw won’t make things easy but this race suits.
10. Blondeau (16)
Can’t have.
11. Nunthorpe (8)
Prefer others.
12. Yellow Sam (6)
Stable mate to Tuvalu. Has been a huge drifter since markets opened which is a concern but does have the quality to take this out.
13. Midtown Boss (3)
Having a superb prep. Maps for a dream run, yet to miss top 2 this prep and is very hard to knock. Main danger to the on top selection.
14. Sacred Palace (11)
Can’t have.
15. Home Rule (15)
This looks too tough.
16. Is It Me (2)
Maps well and hit the line with intent at Bendigo. Knockout chance at odds but has to find a few lengths to be winning this.
17. Niccolite (14)
Can’t have.
