A few of these runners come through the Golden Gift on the 5th of December. Summer Loving goes on top. It was taken back from the wide draw and made up a stack of ground to fill the placings. Drawn to settle much closer here and Tim Clark will be likely to adopt his usual front running tactics. Infatuation comes out of the same race but had every possible chance while Fire Lane brings in a different form line and has nice upside. Mach Ten also comes from a different form line and ran a solid 2nd on debut behind a handy one.

From a leading stable but will need luck from the draw. Respect any market moves.

Deserves to be well in the market. It was a solid debut run behind a very smart one and could potentially improve on top of the ground. The race rated well and this is within reach. Danger to the favourite.

Prefer in something easier.

7. Sovereign Fund (3)

Best jockey in arguably the world booked. Keep an eye on any market moves.

8. Fire Lane (4)

Eye catching debut win. The stable and jockey combination are solid and Fire Lane will get a nice run just behind the speed. Solid chance.

9. Infatuation (2)

Got the dream run in transit last run sitting behind the leaders and presented at the right time. Confident that Summer Loving can have its measure now with the extra run under the belt and better draw. Top 4 player in this but under the odds given it had every chance last run.

10. Naked Eye (10)

Can’t have.

11. Solutionist (6)

Gun jockey booked. Keep an eye on the market for any moves.

12. Summer Loving (1)

Loved the debut effort of Summer Loving. Forced back from the wide draw, it savaged the line from a long way back to find the placings. Tim Clark can find a prominent spot from barrier 1 and it will be much harder to beat this time around from the good draw, with the jockey change and the race day experience under its belt. Clearly on top.
