Track: Good? Weather: Shower or two

Zaaki appears to have scared most away again here with just six to go round in the $1,000,000 Group 1 Caulfield Stakes – four of them are geldings and two are mares.  Zaaki, a son of Leroidesanimaux will be seeking to make it seven wins in a row on Saturday as he has his final start before tackling the Cox Plate where he is currently a warm favourite.  Probabeel is currently second favourite in the betting.  She has three wins from her four Caulfield starts and finished second to Zaaki in the Underwood Stakes at Sandown a fortnight ago.  Homesman is a dual Group 1 winner and was good first up in the JRA Cup at Moonee Valley, while Nonconformist won the Naturalism Stakes last start and will back up into the Caulfield Cup next week.  The remaining runners are longer than $20-1.

1. Homesman

Won the Australian Cup over this distance in March and ran Zaaki to 1.5 lengths at Eagle Farm in June.  He ran a good second first up in the JRA Cup at Moonee Valley.  Strips fitter here – is a must include for multiples.

2. Zaaki

Outstanding talent who has won his last six starts.  He resumed with a dominant win in the Tramway Stakes at Randwick on September 4 then justified the short quote to win the Underwood by two lengths last start.  Draws perfectly in barrier four again here.  Should be winning.

3. Nonconformist

Five year old gelding who has five wins and six placings from seventeen career runs.  Didn’t have the best of luck first and second up, then found a great spot in the run and capitalised on it to win the Naturalism last start.  In the mix for the minor money.

4. Nickajack Cave

Ex European now under the care of Peter Moody.  He was safely held in his one Australian start at Rosehill in April.  Prefer to see him first up.

5. Probabeel

Won the Cockram Stakes here first up over 1200m, then was in the wrong section of the track in the Sir Rupert Clarke.  Finished second behind Zaaki last time in the Underwood.  Back to Caulfield suits.  Expect her to run well.

6. No Effort

Lead all the way to win the Heatherlie Handicap here two starts ago.  She is in a rich vain of form but this is harder.
